AFTERCARE

Every client' skin responds differently to these treatments and this information acts as a guideline only.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Please take note that your new brows are an open wound. They will appear darker, sharper, and thicker for the first 3-7 days however this will not interfere with working or socializing.

  • Your brows may also appear warmer in color due to redness in the skin. In some cases this can last up to three days depending on your skin's sensitivity.

  • The pain after your procedure is very minimal and is best compared to a mild sunburn.

  • During healing you will experience flaking and in some cases minimal scabbing. The more you bleed the more likely you'll scab. I highly recommend staying away from alcohol and caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment. (This includes coffee the morning of.)

  • The healing process takes 6 weeks and during this time your brows will lighten up, soften and slightly decrease in size. It is also common to experience "the ghosting stage" which is when a shiny layer of skin grows over your tattoo and they seem to be completely faded. This usually lasts a week or so until your skin regenerates and your tattoo reappears.

  • Keep in mind microbladed brows heal 30% lighter than initial color.

WHAT TO DO

  • Cleanse the area morning and night with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

  • Apply the provided barrier cream with a q-tip to the treated area for the first 5 days or until your flaking begins.

  • You may bathe normally however take caution when washing your hair not to get shampoo on your eyebrows.

  • For the first few night sleep on a clean towel or clean pillow case to avoid infection.

WHAT NOT TO DO

  • Do not use any soaps or cleansers on the treated area for the first two weeks.

  • Do not use Neosporin, Vaseline or any petroleum based products on the brows during healing.

  • Do not pick or scratch at your healing brows. You want the dead skin to naturally flake off and heal itself. Picking at the tattoo will cause loss of pigment, scarring and/or serious infection.

  • When cleansing avoid using wash cloths or abrasive materials that can tug at the brows.

  • When cleansing never go against the grain or in circle motions.

  • While bathing do not submerge your head under water or let the shower water spray directly on your face.

  • Do not apply makeup to the procedure area for 14 days.

  • Refrain from exercise and excessive sweating 24 hours prior to your appointment and 7 days after your appointment.

  • No swimming pools, jacuzzis, or other bodies of water during healing.

ONCE HEALED

  • Take loads of selfies and enjoy your new waterproof eyebrows!

  • Apply an oil-free SPF to the brows daily. Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discoloration.

  • Be mindful of keeping sweat off your brows. The salt in your sweat breaks down the pigment and causes premature fading.

  • Maintain a groomed brow by tweezing or waxing unwanted hairs outside of your microbladed shape.

  • Avoid using any chemical exfoliants, peels and brightening products on or near the brows. Products containing Glycolic acid, Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin-C, Hydroquinone will cause pre-mature fading and discoloration.

  • Additional brow makeup may still be required post-tattoo to achieve your desired look.

  • Annual maintenance touchups are recommended.
